Bottom of the Tank

'Bottom of the Tank' was broadcast as part of the MOOV-HD project on VOOM Satellite Network, later picked up by The Dish Network.
It was made starting with spinning toys shot against green screen, which were then keyed and visually enhanced in After Effects, and the background was edited with FInal Cut Pro, then brought into After Effects to finish. Audio collage created by me using Final Cut Pro.

Discarded

[video not available at the moment - my apologies - please check back!]
"Discarded" was in a curated HD video art exhibit called "Out Of Frame: Motion Art from Mobius" in fall of 2006 at Philadelphia Art Alliance, the country's oldest interdisciplinary art institution. It was made in collaboration with Wade Echer and Tom Camarda.

Here's some really great press from Roberta Fallon of the Phila Weekly:

“Valerie Keller’s Discarded is just beautiful. Like a slowly morphing slideshow of still images, the piece...features weed-strewn parking lots and abandoned shopping carts. The accompanying audio is people talking about their love lives—stories of miscommunication and missteps."

Siniya

'Siniya' was broadcast as part of the MOOV-HD project on VOOM Satellite Network, later picked up by The Dish Network.

It is a composite, done partly in Final Cut Pro, partly in After Effects, of HD footage of water, shot by Wade Echer, and mystery footage I shall not reveal but it made streaks and sparkles (shooting of this secret footage was directed by Chris Scallon), and photographs of night driving taken by me. Audio collage created by me using Final Cut Pro.

Heartland

Heartland' was broadcast as part of the MOOV-HD project on VOOM Satellite Network, later picked up by The Dish Network.

The footage was composited in Final Cut Pro using a transparency graphic created in After Effects by Jason Fetz. The footage is from rural Kansas at harvest time, shot by Wade Echer. Audio collage created by me using Final Cut Pro.

Garden

'Garden' was broadcast as part of the MOOV-HD project on VOOM Satellite Network, later picked up by The Dish Network.

This was created from photographs taken in my 'obsessively photographing flowers' phase, composited in After Effects using transfer modes, and put together with some additional effects in Final Cut Pro. Audio collage created by me using Final Cut Pro.

MitoMoto

'MitoMoto' was broadcast as part of the MOOV-HD project on VOOM Satellite Network, later picked up by The Dish Network.

It is a composite, done partly in Final Cut Pro, partly in After Effects, of HD footage of microscopic cells, shot by Wade Echer, and footage of a woman doing tai chi, and then it was all processed and layered and filtered like crazy.

Portrait of a Tree

'Portrait of a Tree' was broadcast as part of the MOOV-HD project on VOOM Satellite Network, later picked up by The Dish Network.

It is composed of HD footage and still photos of our protagonist, the paranoid tree, who is having rather a rough day. Footage was directed by Andy Hahn, shot by Wade Echer. Audio collage created by me using Final Cut Pro.

Eyeball Paint Numbers

'Eyeball Paint Numbers' was broadcast as part of the MOOV-HD project on VOOM Satellite Network, later picked up by The Dish Network.

This video, set to a track by NYC band Krakatoa, was done partly in Final Cut Pro, partly in After Effects, using HD footage of an eye, some paint, and some numbers. I kid you not.

Traffic Jam
